I haven't seen anybody make a post about this yet, but I figured why not.

Česká zbrojovka, a.s. Uherský Brod introduced at the recent 34th International Trade Fair for Hunting and Sporting Arms, Outdoor Articles and Accessories (IWA) its brand new product – the CZ75 SP-01 Shadow pistol. The Trade Fair was held in Nuremberg at the days of 9 - 12 March 2007, and 1055 exhibitors from 48 countries spanning the whole world took part in this event.

The Czech producer presented at this Trade Fair the best this company manufacturing programme could offer. Besides the CZ 75 SP 01 Shadow pistol the company introduced first of all an array of new products intended for the European market. For instance modified stocks designed for the CZ 527 Lux and CZ 550 Lux rifles. This modification concerns a new type of stock made in the Bavarian style with a cheekpiece and enhanced pistol grip having a distinctive shape of checkerings. The change in the stock design de facto embraces the whole line of long guns, which is evidenced also by the CZ 453 Lux rimfire rifle. Another novelty is also the CZ 452 2E ZKM Supermatch model in cal. 22LR.

In the fully occupied booth of Česká zbrojovka there were not only firearms, which attracted attention of visitors, but also shooters. The members of the IPSC Team of CZUB Adam Tyc and Martin Kameníček demonstrated their skills and mastership with dummy cartridges, especially quick pistol reloading routine, thus giving evidence why they are ranked among the top shooters both in Europe and in the world.

In relation to the practical shooting and the CZ 75 SP 01 Shadow pistol it is not possible not to mention an important resolution made by the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), as on 9th March the IPSC approved this pistol for all competitions in the Production Division, and that with validity covering the whole world. The prime handgun in the hands of prime shooters has certainly a great chance to prove its qualities. The World Champion Adam Tyc will use this handgun at this year European Championship in France.

CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow
The new generation of CZ 75 SP-01 pistol especially adapted according to suggestions as proposed by users from Law Enforcement, Military and Police communities worldwide, with an additional input from the Team CZ world premier shooters Angus Hobdell and Adam Tyc. The CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW features no firing pin block, which consequently helps to slightly reduce trigger pull weight and improves trigger travel properties. Pistol frame which comes from a new mould incorporates alterations such as recess beneath the trigger guard and beavertail to enable a higher grip of this handgun. Slightly “weaker” recoil spring originating from standard production CZ 75/85 pistols facilitates loading and enhances the shooting comfort. Sights consisting of fiber optics front sight and tactical “Novak style” rear sight to promote much easier, faster and more accurate target acquisition. Round off edges of magazine well, substantially improve reloading. This new generation of CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow pistol is appropriate for service use, self-defense and sport alike.

Were they selling a different Shadow before or was it under a different name? Something from the CZUSA custom shop without the fiber optic up front, worked trigger, and a few other modifications.
