Dallas, TX, July 4th?

Where to shoot?

Targetmasters and the Bullet Trap are the closest ranges I know of to the Galleria.

Haven't been into the Bullet Trap in years, Targetmasters has gone downhill a bit the last few years, but it's still a decent option. They had actually done some fixup the last time I visited.

Someone needs to nail down a time as well.

There are a ton of restaurants north of the Galleria on BeltLine in Addison.
 
Also what about DFW Gun Range? Just another option. I have never shot there but here it's pretty nice.
 
Unfortunately I work Monday and we are spending Tuesday at the Arlington Sportsman's Club July 4th Celebration.

Bane: There is a Yahoo group that is mostly DFW THR guys (http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/THR_DFW/). I'm trying to talk them into using a new DFW focused forum I got up and running last week (http://www.ItGoesBang.org) but so far the member list is pretty short.

All: Yes, this is an unabashed plug for the new forum. I'm hoping it will encourage get-togethers, etc... in the DFW area for shooters.

apowell: Your forum looks great. I just registered. I really like the idea of a forum. I am a member of the Yahoo DFW group but I can't figure out how to do anything with it. Also, I get about 15-20 emails from the group that I don't know anything about and just end up deleting. All DFW need to get on your forum ASAP.
 
Has DFW Gunrange gotten every thing repaired since the roof collapsed earlier this year in the storm?
 
I'm hitting the rifle range on Saturday (you're more than welcome to join me for that), I'm flying up to DC for the day on Sunday, and I'll have my three small kids in tow on Monday and Tuesday. You can always come ATVing with us in the Red River on Tuesday, if you like. :)

ElT - since you've probably already got a rudimentary schedule set up, how's about you lay out a few timeframe options for either a Monday meal gather or range session?
 
Back from training all morning and into the afternoon in Fort Worth. The youngsters keep getting younger and I somehow seem to be getting older.:D

I have restock with ammo at Academy Sports on Cherry Road in FW as TSA in Indy stole my ammunition (long story which I will tell later--I had loose rounds in the bottom of my range bag and had to give up almost all my boxed ammo to our friends in law enforcement). Check your range bags before you fly, boys or TSA will extract an alternate "fine".

Glock-o-matic, his child bride, Mrs. Law Review and I are going shooting south of Dallas on Sunday (not know name of club). Call my cell phone if you want to come alone maybe (765-427-0993).

Would be up to shooting on the 3rd or 4th too.:)
 
If you don't mind my asking, what sort of training are you doing in Dallas? Firearms-related? Or attorney stuff?

I've moved to Houston, Texas now and am interested in training opportunities in the state (I have so much regret that Thunder Ranch moved...).
 
Harold, neither, martial arts stuff. Hope the move was productive. Buck up, Thunder Ranch is still about, Clint just wanted out of Tejas.

Had a good time this morning busting caps with Glock-o-matic, his child bride and Bane. Bane let me shoot his FAL and I did NOT break it.:D If only the poor boy knew what happens to firearms in my paws.:p

rbernie, going out for sushi tonight, dinner on the 3rd is good too. Call me if you are about and interested; you have my number, sir.:)
 
I had a great time at the range too. I really liked plinking the steel targets. Shooting the full auto M1 Carbine that some others brought was awesome too. I am up for dinner on the 3rd or 4th. Just let me know when and where. Lets try and get as many THR people together as we can. If your interested speak up so we can figure something out.
 
DFW Gun Range is a great group of guys, but they are still reconstructing. They have 5 lanes available. If there won't be that many of you, you might go there.

Alas, I can't go shooting, the wife left me to go to a family BBQ while I stay home and install wood flooring :barf:

Addison has a million great restuarants, but Monday is the big fireworks show night, so traffic would probably be something just shy of horrific.

If you guys nail down a time to go eat, post here and I will try to show. I may have the kiddo though, if that is OK with everyone else.

How about Bone Daddys on Central Expy and Spring Valley @ 7:30? That is in Richardson for you El Tejon if you want to look it up on google maps.

Monday at Bone Daddy's? I am allegedly close to Richardson according to my gas station map. Duck, give The Badger a call.:)
 
So are we meeting for dinner Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday? Also, could someone post the street address to wherever we are going so I can get mapquest directions. Thanks!

I left you a voice mail a while back. How about we try to reschedule for tomorrow (Tuesday the 4th) for dinner?

There is no way I can make it down there by 7:30 tonight now.

Who would be able to come to Richardson tomorrow evening for dinner?

If Bone Daddy's is good for everyone, copy and paste W Spring Valley Rd & S Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080 into google maps and it will show you where to go.

It is on the SW corner of Spring Valley and Central Expy, in a shopping center with a movie theater and a Microcenter computer store.

I'm up for anywhere else is anyone has another idea.
