Decided to make my own Solo pinky extensions.

Got tired of waiting for Kimber to make the extended mags available, I decided to make my own pinky extensions.

Its basically a KimPro Tac mag base plate that I ground down on the sides so it fits into the groove on the bottom. I shortened and rounded the front so it sat flush with the pad and front strap. Now that I can get a full grip, I'm curious how it shoots.

I think you're also going to have to machine your own replacement parts when Kimber discontinues this gun shortly.

I don't think the Solo is being discontinued. It may be hard to find but so are many models from quite a few companies right now. Quite a few of those other models from other companies have people saying that they'll be discontinued as well.

I've been seeing more and more range reports from new Solo owners that have been nothing but positive. I had a slide lock issue with mine, sent it into Kimber and since getting it back, no problems at all. It will eat any 115gr.,124gr. and 147gr. ammo I put in it.

I was being a little hyperbolic, but this pistol just seems to be going the way of the Kimber KPD.

I hope Kimber's able to make them work and I'm glad they were able to make yours right. Quite a few other people weren't so lucky, including IMTHDUKE, a member of this forum, who at last count had sent his in no less than 4 times without them being able to make it function. His experiences are far from unique, as well.
