Has anyone noticed delays taking longer than normal when buying a hangun? Every handgun I have bought, I have been approved on the spot or delayed with a call-back within an hour.

I went into my dealer and bought a handgun yesterday after work, got delayed and haven't received a call-back yet, almost 24hrs. I bought a new M25 .45 colt about 3-5 weeks ago and got called back in 10 minutes with an approval.

Most of the time it is a quick affair as you mentioned. However, I've come to learn that "delayed" can mean a lot of things.

I was delayed once, and it turns out they there was another person with the same first/last name (but different middle name) as me. Turns out that this other person wasn't to be approved!

The good news is that if you are in a delayed status for 3 business days, the transaction has to go through

That telephone checking stuff just seems to be a waste of time and I don't bother with it. I just fill in the form, show them my drivers license and CHL card and go.

It happens from time to time. After a specified time period the purchase is automatically approved if they don't respond.

State pistol card here-----$5 and good for 3 years-------just give em your money and your card and start filling out the yellow form---no stinkin instant checks here.
