Dick's Enters the Fray

Absolutely the WORST service I've gotten in DECADES in a store was in Dick's.

They will look right at you, and pretend you're not there. If you have to stop THREE different people to get help, they clearly don't want your business.

I don't need to boycott them. By refusing to provide service, even when I go there, they boycott THEMSELVES.

And that's apart from them usually having NOTHING I want, including handguns, which they don't sell here.

If I want to buy a gun in a store, I go to Goschinski's Fin, Feather, Fur Outfitters. They have a good selection, good prices, and sales people who aren't rude jackasses. They're the "anti-Dicks".

I never said people aren't trying to take our guns. I believe there definitely are. Hence my comment about a slippery slope. First ARs, then what?

Just say no to gun control.

I don't believe in the slippery slope we are on.

That sounds to me like you consider gun owners' concerns that moderate gun control measures will eventually lead to gun bans and confiscation to be unfounded.

The two Dick's stores in my locale are usually like ghost towns with overpriced merchandise and lackluster service. Don't know how they stay in business. This latest PC move with "assault rifles" and the age 21 change surprises me not in the least - it'll just mean more business for other firearms dealers.

Like many earlier posters I'm probably done with Dick's forever.

Yes. We have so many gun laws right now that would stop a lot of people from getting guns, but they are not enforced. I have arrested many people on gun charges just to see the charges dropped on a plea for a lighter sentence.
When is the last time you saw someone go to prison for making a straw purchase? The feds will not prosecute some girl that buys her thug boyfriend, that’s a convicted felon, a gun because it’s only a one year conviction and they don’t want to waste the money.
The people that want moderate gun control measures are always saying.
“If we can’t stop the wrong people from getting guns with the laws we have, them we need more gun laws”

All we need to do is enforce the laws we already have.

I sent them an email. It’s time to flood anti-gun companies with emails. More importantly, it’s time to flood the inboxes in elected officials!

I wonder if Trump is being anti-gun as part of some trick... does he know that anti-gun measures won’t make it to his desk and that he can quell the complaining of the left by acting like he is supportive of anti-gun measures?

Oh, ok I see where you're coming from now.

Total miscommunication.

I meant the slippery slope the nation is on, not gun owners for not liking what Dick's is doing. I should have been more clear. I don't personally care about owning an AR, but I have no problem with law abiding citizens having them.

I meant that banning or further restrictions is a slippery slope that can lead to more restrictions. I believe we are on the same page.

Must be why the military wants them young.

Strong bodies and weak minds was the old saying. Before I get dog-piled, I enlisted when I was 17 and was an Army Infantryman and later Infantry Officer. Infantry is a young man's game.

I was turned-off when a Dick’s cashier insisted on me revealing my date-of-birth in order to buy a small Swiss Army knife. I was 59 at the time.

They closed a bunch of stores in Colorado a few years ago, never enjoyed going there. Staff was less than helpful, never had the product available and were over priced. Their "gun rack" were mostly shotguns a few bolt action rifles and a few handguns, but so over priced I never considered anything they had.
