Like others have said, that foam sucks up moisture and holds it. That's horrid for storage.
Clean that Kimber regularly. It has a match grade barrel that isn't stainless. I disassemble and wipe mine down weekly if I carry it during the summer. It's a great barrel, but surface rust will form quickly. This isn't a negative or a poor product in my book, just a fact of life. Everything else made of steel that I own, firearms or otherwise can and will rust...particularly in the hot, humid southeast.
And yeah, take those goofy stickers off. I once had a beretta with factory ct grips...I peeled those off right away.
Overall, putt 1000 - 2000 rounds through it, change the recoil springs and the rest will take care of itself. Enjoy.
