local IDPA match this morning and I shot the CCO for the first time

Even though I didn't shoot well, the gun is a natural in my hands, I have confidence in it, and with practice I'll get'em all in the center.

I think I'm done searching for a carry Colt.

This is it!

Was it performance jitters that made you shoot poorly? Or just lack of familiarity with the new gun?

I just don't think I was mentally present.

Also, the unusual layout of the stages got in my head and got my focus of where it should have been: the front sight.:banghead:

I just started IDPA last season too. My first match I actually did quite well (probably due to the fact that there was 3 inches of snow on the ground, it was 35deg and freezing rain, and I love the cold.). My second match (where it was warm, and therefore my advantage was gone) I did substantially worse in the rankings. Its great fun, and has actually got me doing dryfire practice and holster work at home. Keep it up!

You'll come around with it don't worry. The CCO's are my very favorite guns, just perfect for me in everyway. Enjoy and happy shooting.

I'm curious to learn what about the gun makes it a "natural" or instills confidence if you aren't shooting it well.
