Well, call me a convert. After collecting a significant pile of range pickup. I now moved onto removing the military crimps. Started out using the RCBS case prep center I had. which admittedly works okay. but is rather slow, and the fingers do get tired grinding them away.

I happened to see the super swage on the shelf on Sunday, on sale no less - for $100. so I thought why not.

The why not should really be "why didn't I do that a whole lot sooner".
The swager is #2 (just barely) behind the progressive press in terms of speed and simplification of reloading. Wow. I processed a milk jug of 223 in the same time as I could have done perhaps 50 cases the old way even without the "auto" modifications.

I bought the RCBS bench swage, it works great. The super swage's were too expensive back then.

Add a rubber band to it....auto eject.
There are few people that sell case inserts for the SS.
Just a plastic reverse mold of a case that fits inside, aligns the case up with the rods.

Do NOT search for LEE APP on this website. Do NOT! You have been warned!!!

:)

I found the super swage to slow and went with the swage it, when sizing and trimming new range brass. I keep the super swage on the bench for when I find a tight primer pocket, which allows me to do the occasional case when loading. I keep my brass separated, with what I have already swaged and the new range brass I acquire, so I only have to swage new range brass.

I use my Dillon xl650 with a tool head setup with the sizing die, the "swage it" and the Dillon electric trimmer, as I usually do large batches of range brass. I just move the trimmer between caliber tool heads. The trimming and sizing die never get changed, unless I need to make an adjustment.

If I need to trim a batch of brass that has already been swaged, I don't even bother with installing the Swage it.

Since I wet tumble with pins after trimming the pins remove the mouth burrs and the lube is removed with dawn and lemy shine, it eliminates a lot of steps and time. It used to take me several hours to perform each step for swaging, trimming, chamfering the mouths and I still had to run them through the 650 to size. Now I do 4 steps in one pass on the autoloader and do not handle each piece individually. Yes being retired I have the time, but the time savings allows for more fishing, hunting, grandkids and of course mama.

I have the RCBS version similar to the Super swage. Like it fine, but the APP is faster, thanks to the case feeder. I will say that you need to read the directions that came with the APP swage tool better than I did at first. I thought it was worthless compared to a dedicated bench swager, until I discovered it was me not the APP that was at fault.

Too bad RCBS and Dillon didn't think of designing case fed case prep tools.;) Course Dillon did make the 1050 that does it all, including swaging.....but it's a bit out of my price range.

I have three Dillion SS
One set up for small primer pockets
One set up for large primer pockets
And an extra one.

I have two of the RCBS pocket die sets, totally garbage in my opinion.they are so bad in my opinion I wouldn't even give them away.
