I am posting a link here to another site known as Hack-A-Day which is a site which chronicles a number of electronics projects and hacks. Something they have frequently discussed is Coil-Guns also known as Rail-Guns which use electromagnets to fire solid ferrous (or otherwise magnetic) projectiles.
The thread today on one of the articles started seriously degrading almost immediately when an anti-firearms individual posted their opinion. The rest explains itself.

There aren't really any arguments here we haven't heard before but what I'm amazed at and would like to demonstrate is the blind polarization that occurs in the user commentary on the business of firearms.
