On monday I thought it would be nice to go make some boom boom.
I get to the range and there is a member there with his two girls shooting a rifle. I just sat down and was going to wait intill they were done. It is a small range and you can't shoot handguns at the same time when someone is shooting a long arm.
A few minutes go by and they are picking up there stuff to go, I ask are you done. He tells me that there is a problem and they have to leave.
I ask if there is anything I can do?
He tells me that the rifle he is shooting is a buddies and he was loaned the gun and ammo to shoot.
Here in the action is a 30-06 live round. The rifle is a 270. The action is open and he is kinda upset with himself for putting it in the action. (he loaded only one round threw the open bolt)
Now he says that he must go home and try to get it out. It was in the extractor but the round was to long and it would not come out. He must have tryed to chamber it.
The rifle was some kind of gun that I was not aware of and he didn't know how to get the bolt out.
I tryed to get the bolt out as I would have on the bolt actions that I have. No luck.
I tell the guy, lets take the mag floor plate off and see if the shell can be taken out threw the bottom.
He replyes that he has no tools, I get my buck tool out and say that I have every thing we need right here.
With in a few minutes out came the shell threw the bottom and this guy was real happy. I think he was more scared of going back to his buddy and having to say look what I did.
So do you bring just a multi tool or a big tool box to the range?
