I love it when my muzzle-braked Encore and Contender pistols blow the paper targets off the benches, and blow the tackle boxes shut 5 and 6 feet to the sides. Last time it happened, the guy beside me looked in astonishment and said, "You could at least let me know you were gonna fire that cannon before you pulled the trigger!" That was my Contender pistol, 14" in .30-30 Win with a muzzle break on the barrel. He was more astonished with he saw it was just a little .30-30 Win. After the astonishment wore off, he wanted to fire it. After he fired it, he left the range to go purchase one! True story. So, yes...boomers can be inspiring. But, I still love my little .22LR barrel.
