Does anyone else recover bullets?

I've only managed to collect one bullet out of the shoulder of a very big buck. Blew through the one shoulder and stopped on the second one. The core lot bullet mushroomed as advertised and quickly dropped the big guy. I also keep the brass when I can find it. Not just for reloading but for example I have the brass from the round that dropped my first deer and glued it to a picture of me with the deer.
The bullet I recovered got glued to the "iron buck" mount that I put the rack on. I placed it in one of the eye sockets and I'd say it looks pretty sweet.

I always try to collect them, or at the very least study the bullets impact on the animal as I process it. As a hunter I have learned even more about shot placement and the effects on the target animal through following a wound channel and (hopefully) finding the bullet. Also just like a gun shoots a bullet better than others, some bullets perform better on game and this will show you which.

I pulled 2 out this season while butchering....I remember tossing them into the ice chest. Now I kind of wished I would have kept track of them and documented where they hit, loads and all that stuff.

I hadn't really thought about it, but after reading all of this. I think I will take better care when I get the next one.

I salvaged this Hornady 12g 300 grain SST sabot slug out of an 8 point Whitetail my buddy shot this season. Entered at an angle just behind the right ribs, went through the vitals, bumped against a rib on the left side and came to rest just underneath the hide on the left.
