Greetings,
After seeing the pics of Cocked&Locked's Highway Patrolman with T-grip and stag grips, I was thinking about picking up some of the American Elk grips that have become a popular alternative to stag.

I know that some folks (Antler Crafts of Oregon, Spresser) make elk grips for the 1911 for as low as $50, but has anyone run across N-frame grips of elk for any lower than the $150 that Eagle charges?

Have you done a search here? I believe awhile back there was a poster who did elk stag grips and showed them .. If not here pop over to The Firing Line and do a search there.

Did a search, I belive you may be referring to my post from a few months back about bone grips, where I showed off my 1911 stocks.

There's some fellow who goes by username "executioner" who makes stag grips for the N-frame, but he has no posts outside of his entries in the For Sale forum. He's asking $115, might need to drop him a line and see if they're elk or sambar.

Elk Grips..

are made by a guy in Colorado who posts on the S&W Forum as "executioner". I don't know if that relates to his day job or what? Anyway, he makes N-frame elks for sale and will also make to order if you want them fatter or thinner. I have bought from him and he is straight and quick to deliver. He used to put S&W medallions on but I think he got lawyered out of that.

To get access to the Classified section there, you need to "join" which just means sign up. They use this to keep the banned guys away.

Bob.
