Three of four months ago I found a blog by a friendly who wrote eloquently yet succinctly about the tremendous responsibility he totes with regard to his concealed carry permit and sidearm. Just fishing here...since this is one of the busiest forums, I'm guessing I found a link to it here. All I remember about the guy's page was maybe that it was primarily black and blue in appearance. That, and the conviction that he summarized our rights and responsibilities as a useful and necessary burden to bear in terms that (should) make sense to anyone with an open mind and an ear for truth. I know...sounds like something unintelligible your significant other babbled during a ballgame...

was it a legit site?

or are we talking about something like the shrine of the mall ninja? Or that "other" site that talked about somebody who felt CCW was about patrolling (I believe it was meant to be taken tongue in cheek if I recall correctly).

Spelling AND punctuation are your friends. Yes, it was a legitimate blog site and there was nothing "patrolling" or "mall ninja" about it. I like chocolate milk too, especially when it's at the bottom of a bowl of vanilla ice cream and Hershey's syrup.

There are no misspelled words in his post.

That said, it's pretty darn rude to ask for help and then criticize someone for their grammar when they respond to you.

--Note Mentioning Mall Ninja's in a first response to a new member isn't always friendly either. However; CCW is for self defense not for becomming Sgt. Friday or Crockett and Tubbs.

Jimmy,

You've only been a member here for 2 months - since June 30th - we can't help you with something you found 3 or 4 months ago. I didn't see anything in the 7 posts you've made prior to this thread that alluded to such a site.

Spelling AND punctuation are your friends. Yes, it was a legitimate blog site and there was nothing "patrolling" or "mall ninja" about it.

Indeed they are my friends, and I am quite capable of both. I advise that you become accustomed to reading shorthand and posts utilizing less-than-stellar grammar, as it is fairly common on internet forums. As mentioned, your response was a bit rude.

That aside, as it is ultimately trivial, you will need to be more specific for us to help you. Was this blog largely about guns, or was a mention of guns and gun-rights simply coincidental? Etc.

Note Mentioning Mall Ninja's in a first response to a new member isn't always friendly either.

I do not believe this to be true. My reply was simply a matter of eliminating possibilities.

I like chocolate milk.
Yes, and if I'm not wrong, you're named after a lactose-intolerant imaginary friend from a cartoon show.
You've also posted 172 threads since you arrived here in February.
Post count is not a designation of experience, seniority, etc. Keep that in mind, .cheese.
Also, like already stated, mentioning mall ninjas in a response to a new member isn't very polite or friendly.
I do not believe this to be true. My reply was simply a matter of eliminating possibilities.
I also think you were implying that he read those sites reguarly and was a mall ninja.

I don't think this thread is going to be around much longer.

One question was asked, .cheese. asked for clarification, maybe in terms or in a method that displeases other people, but I did not detect rudeness or hostilities.

Now if I asked you to hand me something, and while you were getting it, I criticized the speed or form in which you were getting it, I'd be one ungrateful little expletive wouldn't I?

Eye doughn't no wi peepull git sew upseht a-bough-t spehling & punk-two-ashun.

Boredelmo:

I agree. Too much meanness in the thread. Hopefully it goes away soon.

You shouldn't say something like that when someone's drinking Fresca- Mac keyboard cost 40 bucks, you no.

Now if I asked you to hand me something, and while you were getting it, I criticized the speed or form in which you were getting it, I'd be one ungrateful little expletive wouldn't I?
And if you called implyed I was an idiot while you were handing it to me, I'd be pretty upset, wouldn't I?
I'm not saying what JimmyG said was right, but I'm saying that implying that someone is a mall ninja when they are a new member isn't good.
.cheese. may not have implyed he was a mall ninja, but's it's not what you say that matters, it's how other people here it.
Oh, and by the way, you may have discovered I'm not the best at spelling, etc. And I don't pretend to be.

Quite astute. - From a hilarious cartoon show I might add.

I'm not implying anything of the sort? I'm just some guy who posts here.... along with 3.5 million others.

Also, like already stated, mentioning mall ninjas in a response to a new member isn't very polite or friendly.

I also think you were implying that he read those sites reguarly and was a mall ninja.

Again... another inference was drawn that I am at a total loss to explain. I implied nothing of the sort.

And if you called implyed I was an idiot while you were handing it to me, I'd be pretty upset, wouldn't I?

With all due respect, you're taking a very simplistic comment, in which I meant to imply none of what has been mentioned - and drawing inferences out of left field.

I read the following:

about the tremendous responsibility he totes with regard to his concealed carry permit and sidearm

I was not certain whether by "tremendous responsibility", JimmyG was referencing some of the stuff that was mentioned in the blogs about/by the aforementioned mall ninjas. If I remember correctly, stuff about how hard it is to patrol the neighborhood and whatnot.

I don't remember whether they were written eloquently or not, nor do I remember the color of the pages. I saw the above, coupled with JimmyG mention keeping an open-mind.... and did just that.... kept an open-mind in eliminating possibilities.

That's all... there is way too much thought being put into reading between the lines of my posts. I know nothing about JimmyG, other than that he was looking for a particular site, and I tried to help narrow down the list.

Oh, and by the way, you may have discovered I'm not the best at spelling, etc. And I don't pretend to be.

Fair enough.... but I wasn't the one who mentioned spelling and grammar in this thread either.

I'm not pointing fingers. I'm just saying, stop pointing fingers at me as I don't see why it's necessary.
I agree. Too much meanness in the thread. Hopefully it goes away soon.

amen to that.... I'm totally lost. I tried to be polite in responding to JimmyG's criticism.... and now it's coming from other directions too. I suppose there is a lesson to be learned here, I just don't know what it is.

.cheese. I did a bit more research and found that the Myspace Ninja was actually posted on this froum, meaning that he could have read it on this forum, meaining you were just asking for clarification.
Probably shoul have remembered that, but it's been a long time since that was posted, and a lot has happened since to me since then. Now this would be okay for most people but I remember conversations and what I ate for lunch in first grade, and yet I didn't remember reading a particulary funny thread...strange.

Here's the link to the thread, it was three or four months ago, and it was from a mall ninja, so he could have easily read that.
So... sorry for saying that you implied he was a mall ninja. It had been a long day (read this thread http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=300009 ) and I was kinda pissed off, but I shouldn't have vented that anger on you.
And I like Foster's too.

True, but the fact that you have posted that many times in that short of a period led me to believe that you were one of those "the more posts I have the better I am (aka Oneshot!) people.
So, I apologize.
(I'm also amazed I remembered a charachter from a cartoon show I last watched two years ago and didn't remember a thread from four months ago...mumble...mumble...can proscription strength Naproxyn cause memory loss...mumble mumble...)

Not at all. I just have a lot of questions and like chatting on forums. I don't even look at my post or thread count.

Doc2005, when these boys get a little bit "longer in the tooth" they'll realize life is just too short for such trivial insignificance.

Naw, Son. I haven't seen no such of a blog.

Exactly. See, I have a blessing from God. The maternal side of my family are mostly farmers, and factory laborers. The paternal side of my family are mostly doctors, lawyers, etc.

I love, admire and respect every single relative I have. I literally have no family that I do not love. So, for me, cultural/linguistic variances are the norm, not a bother.

I fail to see where .cheese. implied any sort of hostility or sarcasm in his first post. If it were my reply and someone got bent out of shape over it, well... not my problem if others read too much into things or have skin too thin to be posting on internet forums.

That, incidentally, wasn't meant to denigrate you specifically - I'm just saying. See? :)

As far as the OP goes, I'd suggest some etiquette lessons to go along with the vocabulary. Not that it matters - inactive members and resurrected threads, for great justice.

All Done

Seems the OP has had his question answered about as well as it is possible here.

The other stuff is pretty much noise.

JimmyG, I hope you find what you're looking for.

G'nite, all.
