Does everyone's AR-15 go "SPROINGGG"?

So, if someone were shooting at you with an AR15, you'd just have a good laugh and be on your merry way?
Well, he'd hear a "sprrroing" and then he'd be on his merry way...:neener:

Mine used to say "Ni!", but now says "'Ecky-ecky-ecky-ecky-pikang-zoop-boing-goodem-zu-owly-zhiv."

Any that I've ever shot make that noise. After a while, you don't even bother to notice it. When it accompanies a spring flying out, then it's time to worry.

You got me all wrong, brotha...

The AR is a firearm. It is extremely accurate, generally reliable, and I have enough experience with it to respect its capabilities. All firearms are capable of immense power in the right (or wrong) hands and must be respected. I am no fool.

Confidence in your weapon is an important factor that can not be overlooked or underestimated. Personally, a man's relationship with his rifle mimics other relationships in that it doesn't matter how attractive he or she is, or how funny or smart or capable--if trust is lacking, the relationship is doomed to fail. I do not see how judgment of a weapon platform in this regard, based on experience, qualifies as bias and disqualifies me to argue about it or any other platform. I could say the same about you and the M14. It has become obvious in your many posts that while you may respect the platform, you do not find the enjoyment from it that I do. That is fine. But finding disfavor in a weapon's shooting characteristics is a very valid concern.

I tried to trust the AR. Maybe some find my reasons for not childish and insignificant. Again, that is fine. But the fact is that I don't trust it, even if I respect it and even admire some aspects of its performance. It just doesn't do "it" for me, whatever "it" is. If it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, fine. But you can't expect it to do the same for everyone, and it certainly does not for me.
