For the past seven or eight days my phone has rung sometimes twice a day, no one is there, my caller I.D. shows Unavailable with a 888 number printed below. I haven't called them back till today. The phone was answered "Chase Bank Card". I am the holder of one of these cards. The recorded message gave me a choice of applying for a new card, checking my balance, or BEING PUT ON THE NO CALL LIST. I punched #5 as directed for this and was asked for my full 16 digit number and the 3 digit number on the back of the card. I hung up without complying. I then called Chase from the number on the back of my card and they confirmed that this ia a scam. If you receive calls like this check with your card server. FWIW the number I called back was 1-888-872-2629.

Never, ever, give out that info on a blind solicitation -

No legitimate bank/financial institution/vendor will ask you for your account number/PIN/password either by phone or e-mail. They already have it, they don't need it to confirm your identity. If someone solicits this info, it is a SCAM!!!

Play dumb, tell them you'll have to look it up and you'll call them back. Call the 800 # on your real [paper] billing statement immediatley and report it, but under no circumstances should you ever give this out in response to an e-mail or phone transaction you did not originate. Never trust the info in such a notice.

My mom got 'phished' last year upon returning from vacation. They said her account had lapsed and she needed to 'renew' her account info. Fortunately, she called me just after responding and I had her call the bank immediately. It was only 10-15 minutes, but the bastards had already run up about $1500 worth of phoney charges, but she didn't have to pay for any of it. Anyone may fall victim, but they particularly prey on older folks.

Hmm, Just out of morbid curiosity, I dialed the number you gave.

I navigated to the do-not-call option. All they asked for was the 10 digit phone number. No cc number or 3 digit confirmation.
