Dread demo video

I know that this system has been discussed but I didn't find this video anywhere. (Sorry if it is there...didn't find it in my search). In any case, very cool.

I had to go to http://defensereview.com then scroll down
to the article on Dread, open the article and download the
video onto my computer. Ran fine then. It was a little
disappointing - lots of animation.
I have Quicktime but couldn't view on line. Maybe the
free version is missing some capabilities.

It's mostly an animated version of the existing documentation. At the very end there's a few-second demo of the actual weapon (I guess a prototype), and it looked like it didn't work very well. It made shotgun like patterns on cardboard a few feet away.

I've read about the dread system. Sounds like it has a lot of potential, if they can get the kinks out of it....

Watched the video when someone here hosted it temporarily.

Some of the most godawful 3d animation I have ever seen. Whoever animated that stuff should be beaten with their copy of 3D Studio Max.

Agreed. It'll probably be the same guy who actually designs the final product. Three years behind schedule, eight times over budget and still a piece of crap. What they needed to do was stick to and license out the electronic firing mechanism portion to a real weapons manufacturer.
