Drilling reciever of Benelli Nova

Has anyone drilled and tapped a Nova? I am wondering if you just drill the polymer or go into the steel? If into the steel, how deep?I have alot of drill\tap experience just not on guns.

I don't know, but I would not do it until I found out for sure where the steel skeleton is inside the plastic receiver molding.

The plastic receiver cover would not hold screws at all well for any practical mounting purpose.
If you can't be sure of hitting the steel skeleton, I think it would be a mistake to drill it.

I drilled my nova. through the plastic and into the reciever steel. The steel was thick enough to get about 6 good 6x48 threads without breaking through. Have at it.
