Isn't it great that the amount of drive by Bayoneting's have gone down since the brady bill took effect!!!:D

Hey what's this "Clip Clop Clip Clop Clip Clop.....POW......POW......Clip Clop Clip Clop......" An Amish drive by!! DOH!!!!!!:banghead:

Has anyone else noticed that bayonets use to be long pig stickers (about 18") and are no longer than a butterknife today? It's part of the conspiracy.

Troops who foraged during the Napoleonic Wars and our own Civil War use to stick bread, hams, chickens on their bayonets. With shorter bayonets, they have to carry that stuff by hand & their sergeants and officers aren't going to be happy if they're not combat ready. Therefore, bayonets have shrunk in size.

I also think the MRE folks are part of the conspiracy. Why eat MREs when you can get fresh chow? If you can't carry the chow, then you have to eat MREs. See my point?

Maybe the only other person(s) who is happy about the shorter bayonet is the knife/bayonet maker. They can still charge the same price but won't require as much material as before.

Come to think of it, since most bayonets are short today, it must be a worldwide communist conspiracy.

I haven't drug out the tape measure to actually check, but the fold-out bayo on my Mosin-Nagant M-44 has gotta be at least 12".

Since WWI, the US bayonet has shrunk constantly. It wast 16-17". Then it was 10". Now it's 6".

They may as well just scrap the bayonets and just issue field knives.

The funniest thing is something I saw on TV a few times. This GI had a small, handy M4 carbine with all of that Land Warrior crap on it. Three cameras, IR laser, scope, light, etc. Must've weighed 12 pounds. The funnies thing, though? He had a bayonet mounted.

C'mon, GI. Who're you kidding? LOL

Here lies the answer to our bayonnet woes. The Ghurka Kukri! :D

There was a little bit on Mail Call this week about the Ghurka soldier and their Kukris. Pretty interesting stuff.

Got into a discussion with a lawyer some time back. He saw no problem with the AWB, and told him they based it on looks, like bayonets, and flash suppresors. He thought that it was a dumb thing, and he had no idea.

Bayonetings!

I've not seen much in the way of bayonetings around here for quite a while, but I was involved in a drive by Harpooning a couple of years ago at Bear Lake. I was wearing my new Black and White wet suit and 2 guys in Bass boat came by and nearly got me!. And when I went into the shore to rest for a while a large group of people came over and keep trying to push me back into the water. They kept saying something about "keep him wet, and look he's dying" and 1 smart *** said don't get sand in his blow hole! I haven't been back to the beach since then.!!!!! :D :scrutiny: :D
