Dumb S&W lock question.

Looking at a future purchase, (looking at a 3' 4' .38 speical or .357 DA/SA revolver as a future purchase.) and I have a dumb question

Not wanting a debate on it, but if the lock was somehow to fail, does it be default "Lock" or "unlock".

If it is by defalt "Lock" I will have to go with a pre-lock S&W or the Ruger. (as this very well might be a carry weapon.)

When the S&W lock fails, it fails to the locked position. Try a Ruger Sp101, or one of the new lock free S&W 642's. Good luck!

looking at the GP-100 actually as I like the DA with the SA option...

That or a pre-lock Model 64 or 65 (if out there.)

I have a pre lock 3" 65-3. It's a great revolver. I also bought a blue 4" GP100, which is very nice as well.

My personal favorites are the model S&W 19, and the pre lock model 66. My 3" 66-3 is my most carried revolver.

Both are IMHO the epitome of DA 357 revolvers. Good luck with the search!
