E prefix Python questions

I'm looking at python a friend is selling. It is in very nice shape. 4" blue. It is an E prefix serial number. I was wondering when the E prefixes were made and if there is a general feeling in the python community about that era pythons. Also, what would a fair price be? Thanks for the input in advance.

The "E" prefix series ran from 1969 to1975.
The Pythons made during his period are considered to be very good, but remember, bad guns were made in all eras, as well as good guns.
You have to judge the individual gun on it's own merits.

Value depends entirely on actual condition. These days, one in excellent condition would start around $1000.
