just wondering if anyone has experience with both the Witness Elite Stock & the Elite Match. My question is specific to the trigger. the match trigger is SA only, & quite good, from what I hear. The Stock 1 trigger is DA/SA, & I'm wondering if the SA side of the trigger is as good (or nearly so) as that of the match. I'd eventually like to do some competitive shooting, but several divisions require DA.
thanks!

In my opinion no, but it is very good nonetheless.

While I tend to agree with Walkalong, I have seen more variation between the different versions of my DA/SA witnesses. Some are just perfect and well others needed a bit of break in work really well. So I tend to agree with Walkalong, but I don't enough of a baseline with DA/SA witnesses to know for sure.

My opinion is based on limited experience with both guns as well. IIRC, there is less caming up of the hammer before release with the Match.

I'm currently shooting DA/SA Witnesses in Production and occasionally IDPA. I don't have any direct experience with the SAO triggers but everyone I know that shoots them says the SAO triggers in the Limited, etc, are (or can be) better than the single action side of the da/sa guns. I think my SA triggers are pretty decent though. Not quite as good as you can get a well set up CZ, but pretty good.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who shoots these in competition does a pretty good overhaul on the triggers. The stock parts as they come are pretty much placeholders until your gunsmith gets a hold of it.

I know a couple guys who aren't gunsmiths and did their own triggers to various degrees of success, so if you stayed at a holiday inn last night you might be able to do it yourself.
