Why is it that APEX seems to be the only ones who are selling an East German 47 parts kit? Anybody think supply will beef up and others will start selling kits, or should I just pick up the APEX "sanitized" kit while I can. I already missed the boat on their matching numbers kit.

Since East Germany hasn't been a country for over two decades I'm going to guess that the supply of AK47 parts kits isn't going to increase. Most likely whatever they had to offer has long since been sold off.

Agreed. I remember reading somewhere, though, that East Germany didn't allow the export of full AKs/kits, just spare parts. Guess I'm hoping there are thousands in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be released.

Yeah I've never see a lot of parts kits either. I prefer 74s myself and for those I see a lot of random parts but almost never whole kits. Well here's hoping they find that warehouse someday....

Apex would be your best bet anyways. Ive purchased many parts and kits from them. Good company.

I've had good experiences with Apex as well. Any word on the quality E German AKs compared to others?

I've heard the German AKs are the best quality around. I wouldn't be surprised, but then again, I've always been a fan of German firearms.

Some guy told me that he owns an 'East' German AK.

The guy said that he is from West Berlin, so I did not want to ask how....
