Damn, Techbrute, we have too much common gear  (gear stalker!!!)

Those pens you have at the office, I almost bought a pack because they look almost like CF from a distance

Domzilla: Is that a Mika pocket holster I've spied there? I've carried my EDC folder (a Sebenza for the past year) in one of his knife holsters for about 3-4 years. geegee

See!

Proof positive that the liberal adage that all concealed carriers are paranoid is false!

Apparently, only some of us are...

;)

Erik - good ol' fashioned gun, magazine, knife, multitool, E2E... Uh oh... Umm... Paranoid guy?

LOL...

Come on now... I know you don't carry any of those little plastic guns that I carry... there's nowhere to put CF on them. :D

As for the Nalgene bottles, it was my wife that turned me on to them. After I got some, I noticed that lots of other people (most notably the tactical skunk) carry them as well. Apparently they made all the lab containers that she used to use.

The A2, well, what can I say, we both have good flashlight tastes. I was carrying an L4 up until recently, and a 6Z before that (old school!) I'm really just trying to get one of each, anyway.:neener:

Ok, now the Emerson... you may have had something to do with that... between you and Pat Rogers (now there's a pair:D) I wondered if there's something to this whole Karambit thing. I got the Emerson because it was half the price of the Strider, and I wanted a folder. Plus, now that I've been using it, the Wave feature is very cool. I'm currently looking around for my CQC-7 to see if it's waved, too.

I always find it funny if I see some of my kit in your pictures because it's like getting the Skunkabilly Seal of Tacticality. You'd never approve of any of my field gear, though, it's all brown, tan, and OD. :D

I like both, but I carry the A2 primarily due to its dual-level illumination.

Try this exercise, you'll see what I mean: Print directions off your computer onto a standard 8.5x11 white sheet of paper. Drive around a neighborhood with minimal or no streetlights. Now hold the piece of paper in one hand and hit it with your light. Instant nightblindness.

With the A2, you can hit it with the 15 lumen (or whatever it is) beam and not get it all back in your eyes.

I like the L4 because it is more compact, and the switch is much easier to operate under stress. I also like the click-on feature better than the A2. I often find myself carrying both.

That's because the truly tactical carry Rite-in-the-Rain tactical notebooks....

Techbrute, re: field gear, I like earth tones better but since I spend most of my time in the city, it looks too paramilitary, but everyone has black packs.

I think the L4 is too bright for a mapreading light. That's why I like the A2, then I can use the incandescent to light up the street signs around tactical potluck insertion zones.

Wow, how come I haven't contributed to this thread yet!?

Anyways, I carry a bunch of crap in my pockets, which is why I usually wear cargo pants, jeans, or my Royal Robbins.

My keyring, in addition to my keys, has a Leatherman Squirt P4 on it. There's also a Brinkmann Legend 2AA flashlight. I have replaced the standard incandescent bulb with a sandwich module which contains a 1W Luxeon Star LED. Very bright for a flashlight this size, and I can use NiMH batteries instead of expensive 123A batts.

Nokia 5100 cell phone.

Benchmade AFCK D2.

Spec-OPS "The Wallet"
It's big enough to hold my passport and yet small enough to fit in my back pocket! I love the fact that the closure system does not use velcro (that can wear out) or metal snaps (that can be noisy). I stuck a chain on it for more security and to possibly use it as an offensive weapon if the need arises.

well, I have an Arc AAA on the keychain for lowlight uses (mapreading, etc.) and a Tigerlight in the car for when I really need to reach out and light something up...

so I was thinking of getting an L4 for EDC...

but then again, can you ever have too many flashlights?

(the answer, of course, is no)

:neener:

Yes, when they cost more than your guns

Ok, but does that mean that you spent too much on flashlights, or not enough on the gun?

And where does the knife fit in? What if the knife is more than the gun? That's a WHOLE lot easier to do.

well, I use and play with my flashlights alot more than I do with my guns and knives, although they're all fun to have.

DOnt forget your TBT's... If they are to be truly tactical, they got to look it so give them a black carbon finish by holding them over a candle.

Im planning on taking some pictures today of the altoids fak, but the basic contents of the kit are:
40-45 inches of medical tape all over the tin.
2 2x2 guaze sterile bandages
2 alcohol swabs
1 fingertip bandaid
1 knuckle bandaid
1 large and 1 small waterproof sports bandaid
4 acetaminophen tablets (wrapped in aluminium foil)
6 ibuprophen tablets (wrapped in aluminium foil)
2 aleve tablets (wrapped in aluminium foil)
4 benadryl allergy tablets (blister pack)
4 advil cold and sinus tablets (blister pack)
8 pepto tablets
4 immodium tablets
1 pair of rubber gloves
1 pair of tweezers

Not bad, for crammed in a altoids tin eh :)

Not bad at all. I made a little Altoid tin survival kit awhile back. I have changed the contents since the pics though. I carried it untill I accidently ran over it with a go cart.
