"This might not be posted in the correct forum but couldn't find a ammo forum, sorry!"
The new brick of Eley Target came in a shinny Gold covered box, not the old Yellow covering. Is this a complete change in ammo or just packaging ?

Can't answer your question, but I was interested in your observation about there not being an ammo forum. I read the Handloading and Reloading forum regularly, and it never occurred to me that there isn't a Factory Ammo forum. I guess most who have ammo questions post them in the appropriate firearms forum. For example, if you're using your Eley Target in a .22 rifle, you might post the question in the Rifle Country forum.

Yea .22 lr and all rimfire's aren't reloaded ammo :) so we might need a place for rimfire ammo?? o-well
I'am surprised how different the two shot thru the G2 chronograph:

When I shot 50 of each, one ten round group and two 20 round groups, the gold did better:
Groups inch's:
Yellow : 10 round .65 1st 20 rd. : .60 2nd 20 rd. : .91
Gold : 10 round .53 1st 20 rd. :.70 2nd 20 rd. : .60

1st yellow spread:228 std. dev: 80.2 adv. FPS: 1244 2nd yellow spread:35 std. dev: 35 adv. FPS: 1310
1st gold spread:88 std. dev: 16.4 adv. FPS: 1065
2nd gold spread:82 std. dev: 18.3 adv. FPS: 1047
Only have 100 yellow left to shoot, thank God :)

Wow.
Velocity spreads like that would annoy me with econoball reload center fires and send me back to square one with target loads.
Doesn't seem to hurt the .22 much.

Target is standard velocity 22LR. Your velocities of 1244 and 1310 for Target Yellow are way too high.

The velocities for the Gold Target are about right.

This is standard velocity ammo and velocities should be about 1050 fps.

I have two boxes of yellow left, purchased at Runnings for 3.47 / box, I always shot thru the chronograph so I will se if they are still high. The Gold was from a brick.
