I picked up a #4 Enfield converted to 45/70 by Navy Arms. It is an excellent looking gun, The stock is nicer than the Gibbs conversions I have seen.

Anyone who has this same type of gun, are you having feeding-extraction problems? Mine won't keep an extractor spring and feed. If the spring is set loose as a goose it will feed the 1st couple of shells before it binds and the spring is so loose it just falls into the magazine. If I tighten up the spring it wont feed at all.

The extractors need to be relieved slightly, by all the accounts I've heard. Careful file work to the inside of the claw, to open it up for the thicker and wider rim.

I do have a couple of extractors to experiment with. Did you hear anything about the feeding issues with the magazine?
