Australia.
Australia has just had its 'Australia day' celebrations, and while watching local news coverage, it featured naval and army troops conducting formal military parades at Australia's parliament house.
Surprisingly the troops were using SLR's (semi-auto fals), which have been out of service here for a no. of years, but even more surprisingly the mags were what I would describe as bright chrome mags. Not just standard stainless, these things were glowing.
Not quite as garish as Saddam's gold plated AK's, but close enough. :scrutiny:

Are you sure those aren't "parade" props? I understand the politicians are a little fearful of working weapons in Australia these days.

After some extensive research, I believe I can answer...

Parliament has just passed a new law that falls under the "Defense of the Realm" act paragraph 23, subjection 4 appointing 4 new chancellors presiding over "Parades and Public Displays". They appear to have taken a more decorative approach to the otherwise dull and colorless military showings.

Here they are driving the new official armoured vehicle during their coronation parade:

hey! my daughter loves the wiggles!
Mine too... How else would these guys be the first thing to pop into a grown man's mind on a gun forum just because he sees a reference to "Australia Day"? :D They've been on all morning on Disney.

The Wiggles are the only reason I get to take a shower every morning!!! Put her in the high chair, give her a cereal bar, a sippy cup, and turn on the Wiggles... She doesn't move until I get out!

She's sitting in daddy's lap right now, smiling at their picture saying "Hi Jepp" :D
I gotta tell you though... If she were a boy, these guys would be a NO NO in this house! :uhoh:
