Extra mags for BUG?

How many mags do you carry for you BUG?

One 10-round for a P-32. Yes, it works.

I'm going to wait and shoot the P-3AT when it gets here before deciding how many extra mags to buy.

I carry at least one reload for *any* gun I carry, including back-ups. However, since I prefer a J-frame for my BUG, the reload is usually in the form of a Bianchi Speed Strip.

For my "pocket pistols"...

..I've purchased little "pocket spare mag" carriers. Very small~about like a pocket knife. RJ Hedley offers a pocket spare mag pouch with the purchase of one of his holsters for a very reasonable price. Matches the holster too. It fits right around the spare mag and pocket lint stays out. Works well. Goes in any pocket. Surprisingly (unless you know the man), these pocket pouches are made with the same quality as his holsters.
It's a nice touch.

i'm not an expert by any means, but it seems to me that if you need an extra mag for a back-up gun , then you REALLY did something wrong. if you go through your primary mag, second mag for primary gun, empty the BUG, and have to reload it, you are clearly in over your head and should consider the "beat feet" defense. i carry a spare mag for my primay gun and thats all. i'm not trained with a knife so it really doesn't do me much good. 22 rounds is more than i'll probably ever need. heck the 10+1 is probably more than i'll ever need. i hope.

Back-ups aren't only used after the primary runs dry. If you have time to evaluate a potential threat with both time and distance, but evasion sin't an option, you might be able to arm a friend/spouse/other with your BUG and its spare ammo. Or, maybe you've been hit in the first exchange of fire and the primary has skidded off under the car, into a storm drain, etc. If you can't retreat due to injuries received, that BUG and its reloads would be mighty comforting.

Just some thoughts.
