Are there any members of the Fairfax Rod & Gun club, here in Northern Virginia on THR?

According to the website, you need to be sponsored by two members to join, but I don't know any members.

Great club. I wished I lived closer. I would join in a heartbeat. I shoot bullseye there every month.

Maybe you should come by one of the competitions and shoot and meet?

They have the schedules for

Skeet
Trap
Bullseye

on the website. They also have high power and silhouette shoots that I don't see on the web site.

High power seems to also happen from time to time at the same time as when we are shooting Bullseye, but I don't see their schedule.

Thanks. I was poking around and didn't get the impression that the Skeet or Trap was open to the general public. I also don't normally shoot bullseye (don't have a .22 pistol nor a .45 pistol). Do they allow spectators?

I don't know about who may shoot or not. Bullseye is open for shooters not who may or may not be Fairfax members. The line is full, however, for the next match.

Spectators? Don't know that either, sorry. I would head over though and check it out. Can't hurt. Even if you do get turned away, you will perhaps be able to talk to someone there. I am sure if you wanted to watch some of the Bullseye that would be fine.

edit: There are several members at the Bullseye match

Hi all,

I'm a FR&GC member.

Let me answer a couple of the implied questions here, and then extend anyone the invitation to PM me with further questions.

You do need two members to sponsor your nomination. There's a many month waiting list at the moment for nomination consideration by the Directors. PM me for the financial aspects, please.

The Wednesday Night Trap League and the Thursday Night Skeet League, also known as the Dorflein Skeet League, are open to both club members and non-members. Both are a team-based league, like bowling. Five guys make a team. However, you must have a club member as a captain.

Bullseye is filled up through the fall, I believe.

As non-members, you can only see the public web page. All of the members-only schedules, like HP, are maintained on an internal, club-member only web server.

Questions, gentlemen?

If you are close to stafford you can try out our IWLA. I'm a proment member there at the Alexindria chapter here in stafford

for more info go to http://www.iwla.us

We are not as good looking as some of the other places here in NVA but our dues are resonable at $100 a year, NO WAITING LIST and a $100 initation fee (One time only). We have a 100 yard rifle range 50 yard pistol range trap range which is just about down with a new trap house with electrict thrower. Archery range and 2 ponds that offer some really good fishing.

We are having a kids fishing day on June 1 (Next Sunday). Come on out and ask for Brett I will show you around if you want.

You might also want to look into the Quantico shooting club located on Quantico MCB. You can be a civilian and join but they have to keep the military to civilian ratio at 3 to 1. So they may have a waiting list. dues are $80 a year but you need an RSO and if the Marines need the range your SOL.

I am bumping this OLD thread in hopes of finding some people that happen to be members here. I got to do a quick drive through of the property today (I thought today was the open match i was looking for, but its not till tomorrow), and wanted to talk to some people that are members to get their opinions and what not... Please let me know if you are a memeber

Thanks
