During my first trip to the range with my then new Walther P99 I experienced several failures to eject in 150 rounds. I was pretty disappointed with its performance after hearing such good things about the P99. The second time out to the range I brought a friend to shoot it and we again experienced several FTEs. Both times I was using either PMC 115 gr. FMJ or Winchester 115 gr. FMJ. Later, I learned that 115 gr. might not the best choice to use for breaking in a Walther P99.
I finally took it back to the range again today with 150 rounds of American Eagle 124 gr. FMJ and it shot great! No failures of any kind and accuracy was pretty amazing. On par with either of my beloved HKs. So, now I've finally seen what kind of performance this gun is capable of and I am impressed.
