My wife and child are enablers to my addiction. On Sunday i was watching some hunting shows on Versus and they kept playing Bass Pro Shops commercials. So my daughter who is only two years old decided that she wanted to go to Bass Pro Shops. Of course I obliged her and took her, and we went straight to the guns. I comment to my wife that the Ruger MKIII is on sale. She says, "So get it." I start rationalizing the purchase to her and she stops me and says, "I already said you can get it. If you want it,then buy it." Of course I purchased it to get that new gun high. Does anyone else have similar...problems?

... My wife does that one.
I'll be like ... "Ooooh, this is a XYZ ... feels good, too. I wish we cou-"
"Just buy the thing! But I don't wanna hear about another gun for at least a month."

Mine just rolls her eyes when I'm talking about a new gun... Of course it's rare that I buy a new one (only a couple times a year at best) so I don't get too much flak for it.

Stop it!! stop it!!

your making me twitch talking about getting a fix!

The addiction is really sad... When I can't afford the real high of buying a gun, I have to purchase ammo or a new sling or something just to "maintain" and not go into withdrawals.:D

It's an expensive place to be in but, as beeenbag said, buying ammo or some accessory can help ease the pull. I try to have more self control and just leave, but it can be hard when you have family elsewhere in the store still shopping for "things we actually need".:p

My wife was lovingly carressing a pre-Trooper model Colt .357 over the weekend, and if the kids didn't all need new clothes & shoes, one word would have been enough to convince her to get it.

My wife's comment when we're looking at guns is "get what you want", then she pays for it!! She has never told me not to buy something, and I always return the favor. Gotta love this woman!

You're a lucky man Larry, but you already know that.

My wife is one of the good ones too. If I mention a fascination with a particular gun, she says "why don't you buy it?". You gotta love that woman.

My wife is trying to force me to buy a Desert Eagle .50AE brushed stainless. I'm having difficulty fighting her off. I just don't have many excuses left. I may have to give in this next weekend. In fact, she insisted I buy a full sized gun safe a year ago. God bless that woman!!! :)

I was in this situation the other day, my dad really has no interest in guns and doesnt see why anyone "needs" more than one. So I was surprised when I saw him the other day and he took a napkin out of his pocket with a list of long guns on it. He said that one of his friends needs to downsize and he wanted me to get first crack at buying any I might want. Go figure.

When my parents were alive, they fed my addiction. Half or more of my guns they gave me as Christmas gifts or as inheritance. I'd rather have them back than the guns though.

Same feeling about my grandfather Blackknight, he would show up at the house with his car trunk loaded with guns he got in payment for various debts and hand them out to his sons and grandsons for birthday presents and christmas. We would rather have him back.

My Girlfriend has issues with me buying guns, she thinks I have enough BUT she doesn't say no because we have a deal, if her, her daughter, or her horse team (she coaches a special olympic's team) need/want anything then I am to not say a word either. I have even sold a few pieces of my collection to fund that team and have no problem with doing so.

Last saturday she even went to Sportsman's Outlet's indoor range with me in Houston to show a friend how to shoot for the first time!!! She even made it to the fireing line and stayed while we both unloaded two mags before running back to the truck! She doesn't mind a gun in my hands, or her fathers, but in a strangers hands she gets scared and there where just too many strangers there for her taste.

My girlfriend is like that but since she shoots we tend to feed each others addiction. One year for Christmas we exchanged S&W .357's :D

Thank God my wife is reasonable. I'd have all guns and no house, car, etc.etc...
Still, it was a good day when her co-worker bought the same gun I wanted for her, now she's jonesin' for the same gun. And, she just took up trap shooting! Had to have her own shottie. 'Course, now I'm reloading for two...

I somehow happened to botch a trigger job on my 1911 just 1 week before my birthday.
So instead of new tennis shoes from my mom, She gave me cash to buy good quality non MIM firing group.
And she still wants to buy the shoes! I told her no, I could live without the shoes a while longer. But i had to have the gun parts so i could carry my favorite ccw again.

She understands my passions and even has a PPS 9mm next to her hospital bed here at home. So i too have a family that fuels my gun addictions also.

My wife just asks "which one is mine" I have to get her one too. And pick up ammo for her too at the same time I pick up mine. (just give her a few boxes of what I got and say "these are yours". And she puts them with hers. When she is at the store, she sometimes comes back saying "soandso has x caliber in" and she hands me a bag of ammo. We are a perfect match. We are the same with other things too.

Mine doesn't really encourage me to buy guns, but she has never tried to get me not to.
My hobby is more expensive than hers, but I only buy a gun about twice a year, so it evens out. She understands this and doesn't gripe about it.
I have heard the o'l, "I wish you'd hurry up and get it so I don't have to hear about it anymore" line though.

I dont have a keeper yet so I get to buy and shoot whatever my pea picken heart pleases! But I am glad for those that have found their ideal match!
But my 8 yo daughter enables me by spending time reloading with me!

I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to reload with me, and even more than that, take her shooting. Then I will have someone to pick up my brass.

Anyone else getting teary eyed? This is love here, folks...

What they have, [SNIFF], it's so special!!!!!
