The S&W Model 63 six shot 22. LR has a 4 inch barrel, target hammer, target sights, recessed chambers, pinned barrel, and is clean, tight, and appears little used. Is $300 a good, bad, or indifferent price for such a revolver?

Edit to add:

Thanks for the responses, folks. The Model 63 is now mine. :)

$300 is a good price in this area for an M63. Personally I would jump on it as long as it passes the tests outlined in the thread pinned to the top of the forum.

I agree with farscott that if it passes the used revolver inspection, it's a good price. See "sticky" at the top, as he mentioned.

I seriously doubt it has any appreciable wear on it.

I think it would make a terrific training/camping/trail/kit gun.

Good luck! And post a pic if you get it!

Sweet little kit gun

I paid $395 for my LNIB model 63 and I've never looked back. It always comes along on every range trip and is just plain fun to shoot. Mine is the 2" model which I believe is somewhat rarer than the 4". $300 seems like a pretty fair price for these little gems in my neck of the woods (New Jersey).

Huck...

Did not see this thread until just now. I have a Model 63 and it is one sweet little gun. Mine had a heavy DA trigger pull so I sent it back to S&W and they did a good job of smoothing and lightening it up. I think you did well picking this gun up.
