Favorite carry

Smith and Wesson Model 60 2" barrel which really measures 1 7/8".
Been carrying it since I bought it new back in the 1980's.

I'll let you know when I figure that out.

Current carry is my Glock 17. That probably won't last when it starts to get really hot outside. I keep flip flopping between it and my M&P45. I wish I would decide already so I can get used to one. I'm so darn fickle when it comes to which gun to use.

Currently I carry a 2.25" Ruger SP101 with 158gr hard cast LNFP in a :
1. Don Hume IWB.
2. Coat pocket.
3. Vest pocket.
4. Unloaded and zipped in a very small gun rug (downstate Illinois legal).

Why did I choose the SP101?
I already own and reload .357's ...ammo isn't an issue.
It is small enough to conceal, yet potent.
Idiot proof.

Is it the perfect ccw? No.
Its heavy
Only 5rds
The small ejector rod worries me.

STI Shadow .45ACP 7+1 with Wilson Combat mags (as shown in 2nd photo)

STIloadout2.jpg

Why:
1911
.45ACP
Very good trigger
Extremely reliable
Shoots very accurately
Full size Heinie Straight 8 tritium night sights low mounted in a sight channel (no snagging)
Matte black finish makes it stand out less if briefly exposed inadvertently
Thin for easier concealment
Officer size grip for easier concealment
Factory G10 grips with checked MSH and chainlink front strap for fantastic grip
It's Texan, like me, and the manufacturer is local with fantastic service

My carry personal defense

The smith & wesson 357 magnum model 340 pd scandium centennial 1 7/8" barrel with weight of 12 oz. This revolver has the titanium cylinder.
Scandium & titanium is the hardest and the most light weight metal known today. Produced 2001 - date.

Last April until last November: Kahr P45
From November until mid-February of this year: 4" S&W M25 in .45LC
Since then, and for the foreseeable future: 4" steel 1911 Kimber Eclipse

Once it gets really hot I may revert to the Kahr P45 again.

I have several carry guns,my favorite is one of my 1911's wich I carried for a few years exclusively. But a couple summers ago I deceided I didnt want to sweat on my 1911 and started carring a G 27 in the hot months. At first it felt like a little brick inside my belt, and I didnt see me doing it long term.
Now it doesnt feel like a brick anymore,It shoots verry well with a reasonable
round and decent capacity, and its no harder for me to conceal than my Pm9.
It is not my favorite but it seams to be the one that gets straped on most mornnings go figure.

Ruger LCP. It's small, light and fits easily into my pants pocket. It's a little hard to hold onto so I just added a grip extension to it. Makes a big difference.

Try one of these, it made a world of difference for my LCP: http://www.pachmayr.com/tactical-grip-gloves.php

Scandium & titanium is the hardest and the most light weight metal known today.

And the most painful to shoot in tiny guns with hot ammo.

I have a 3 gun rotation: KelTec PF-9, KT P3AT, and S&W 642. The revolver is my favorite.

#1) What: Glock 27, When: Almost always, Where: Hip, Why: Never FTAnything & Hit what I aim at
#2) What: P3AT, When: Always, Where: Ankle/pocket, Why: Same as above

They aint shiny, pretty, or fancy, but I like 'em just fine.

Depending on weather, clothing and location, S&W Mdl 60 with pants with big pockets, with smaller pockets, Kel-Tec P-11 9mm in pocket or Llama Micro-Max 380 on a belt slide. With a heavy coat in the winter I go with my Kimber Crimson Carry 1911 or the Llama in a shoulder rig. That way I don’t need suspenders to keep my pants up. :)
