Just wondered what everyone uses. I have one that hasn’t see much love and I need to work with it and get it a final sighting in and maybe change front sight posts. I currently have a bead front post and use it like an analog red dot. However the heavy 9mm projectiles I prefer for my Canik don’t fly very far and the front post is bottomed out for a 50 yard zero. I need to try a red dot but don’t want to compromise the folding ability. That includes the side flipping table from M-Carbo.

As the title says, what do you find is the best set up for your use?

Don't know why you wouldn't want the MCARBO optic mount, it works great and mine has always stayed consistent with the zero on mine. I have the 40 S&W version, I also installed almost all of the MCARBO upgrade parts in it before I ever fired it. The only thing that I hated about this little carbine was the felt recoil and lack of what I call a good recoil pad option. But I fix that buy modifying the buttstock and then custom shaping a Kick-Eez recoil pad, and then epoxied it to the buttstock.
I shoot this gun suppressed mainly with 200 gr sub-sonic hand loads. It sounds like a pellet gun. But it is amazingly accurate whether I'm shooting sub-sonic or regular powered loads.

The only reason I have an issue with the flip optics mount is I don’t like the idea that my optic is hanging off the side as a target for every chair and door frame I pass as I walk. It doesn’t actually seem to be a problem though.

I also think a gun should come ready to use unless advertised as incomplete. Upgrading is one thing, but needing extra parts is another.

That said it does work as it comes. It just takes some practice to find out how to hold it so one can find the sights quickly and not smoosh the buffer tube into your face. It’s also not a set it in the bench and test loads type of gun.

In the end I suppose I just need to use it more frequently and see what works best. It’s been 100% reliable so far except I dropped the mag once by accident. I shoot left handed and my trigger finger hit the mag release.

What is your case?

I have a Vortex Crossfire ii on an American Defense Manufacturing QD riser mount that gets moved to the bottom rail for folding and a Precisions Services LLC taller rear sight. I have zeroed both irons and optic at both 50 and 25 without problems and the optic easily keeps me in a 2 inch bull's eye at 25 when removed and reinstalled.

It all cowitnesses perfectly, The cheekweld is more tolerable than stock, it keeps the optic from poking out to the side and does not have issues holding Zero like the floppy Midwest Industries thing.

With an Amazon slip on stock pad the whole thing still slides into a 17 inch computer bag for range trips with no lumps protruding on the side. The gun zeroed fine at 50 set up like this but the holdover to be precise at 25 was more than I was comfortable with. When the Primary Arms dot I was using crapped out and needed replacement I moved the Crossfire over from another gun and set it up for 25 where it will remain. But I can still get decent hits with negligible variance at 50 when I want to.

I've been debating going back to iron sights on my 22 pistol and pulling the RDS off it and putting it onto the Sub2K. I plan to mess around with the iron sights, but I don't want to put $225 into it for the flip mount and taller rear sight from M-Carbo. I think I'll try a slightly different front post with a little larger bead and see how that works first.

LOVE the Midwest Industries swing-away optic mount. Not shown in picture are 2 kydek mag carriers on the forend. Configured for CZ75 mags courtesy of the Sig mag latch that is the same height.
