SP101 3"bbl. As I have said before, it's the only one that is small enough to carry on a regular basis, but strong enough and with enough barrel length that it will do anything I ask of it again, and again and again....from now until my great-great grandchildren finally break in the gun.
Yeah. I just got one last month, so it's my new baby.
the S&W 686~! Bought one in early '81, shot the heck out of it and then
sold it; opting for our platforms. 2001 saw me get reacquainted with this
fine firearm in the form of a 6" 686-5. I have NEVER looked back~!
SP101 2" DAO. I can dress around it verry easy. It can shoot full power loads more comfortable than the light weights. Stock grips are good. Good for camp. Good for the City.
Tough choice as you listed my top three favorites. The GP-100, SP-101, and the Blackhawk. I could easily choose any of the three but I went with the GP-100 for versatility of roles.
Although I am generally a S&W guy, my .357 is a 6 inch Ruger GP-100. I picked the Colt Python for two reasons. They are absolutely beautiful, accurate and smooth and I missed a deal on one about 20 years ago b/c my wife and I had to eat for the month and I can't afford one now. But someday.
