I got my 3 20rd Saiga 308 mags in today and...well...

To Correia and the rest of the FBMG guys - I love you, man!

Seriously, these things are freakin' sweet! I barely kept from doing the happy dance at my mailbox (not a pretty sight). The only problem I've got is that I didn't order 3 more during the pre-order.

If any of you FBMG guys are ever in the NW Arkansas area, please let me buy you a beverage of your choosing.

You guys rock.

I'm glad you like them. It took a lot of money, time, and effort, but the project is finally complete.

Now do me a favor, and show them to your friends. :D

Ben, you know me well, unless we're at a place that has horchata. :)

I'm also curious as to those Saiga mags, since I'd been eyeing a Saiga .308. A 20 round .308 is a hell of a SHTF rifle, for sure!

Seen this in supermarkets, then? Can always send them some! (yes, it's really not bad.)

Showing them off won't be a problem. Showing them off too much, well...that's a possibility. I think most of my shooting buddies are tired of me talking about these mags. I've been itching to get my hands on these for the last two months or so (worth the wait, btw, please don't think I'm complaining). They've gotten to where they change the subject pretty quickly.

'Course, I'll be buying more myself as funds allow. Thinking maybe I should give myself a christmas present...

I ordered five, last week. Are they in stock and shipping now? Web site still said 1-2 months.

Are these 20 round mags for the Saiga .308 kalashnikov style rifle? I thought they only had 8 or 10 round mags! That is the one reason I haven't bought one of these guns? And these rifle/carbines are at such a good price! Where can I get the 20 round mags???

www.fbmginc.com I'm a distributor for Russian American, and we're the designer and manufacturer of the 20 round magazines. Yes, they are made specifically for the Saiga .308.

Right now we're filling the preorders, and shipping the magazines out as fast as we can. The orders will be filled in the order that they were placed.

We should be caught up with filling all of the preorders in January. So if you just placed your order, there will still be a little bit of a delay. We should be shipping a couple hundred mags a week.

Nope. No plans at this time. There are only a handful of 30-06 Saigas in the country.

Thankyou so much for the info, Correia. When I went to the site and saw the 20 round mag, I noticed the pic of the Saiga with pistol grip (nice one too) and folding stock. Do you have to buy one put together like that, or can it be done rather simply (and legally)? I've never seen one sold like that, so I had to ask. I would expect that this is a conversion of some sort, but not being familiar with the weapon to begin with, how difficult is it?

Go to the forums at Saiga12.com for all the instructions. Converting Saigas is something of a hobby over there. It is pretty easy if you are mechanically inclined.

We sell Tromix conversions, which are about the finest AKs that there are.

Man I was hoping for these to become available ,,I got my SAIGA 308 from CDNN a few years ago,,got 2 spare 8 round mags but these ROCK. Thanks and I await the ups truck now since I just ordered 2!

Like Correia said, go over to the Saiga-12 forum and read one of the tutorials on converting Saiga rifles and shotguns. It is very easy, I did my first conversion about 4 years ago on the kitchen table of my old apartment with just a hammer, dremel tool, punch, tap and screwdriver. I have done a few since then and it only gets easier.

I just received another 2,200 magazine bodies, so now I just need to shred the meat from my thumbs, and get those put together and shipped out, and we will be all caught up. :)

How many mags are left?

I just purchased a Saiga .308 on Sat. I have to get Christmas shopping done before I can spend anymore on myself.

Well the preorders will all be finished in the next couple of weeks. Then we should be caught up after that.

I'm glad you like them. We're all caught up now, and all new magazine orders should ship within a week or so of ordering.

Correia, I can come by this weekend and help you put those together if you provide pizza. :D

You guys wouldn't believe the torture testing the FBMG crew did on these things. Tossing them off of the roof of their store into the parking lot, for one.
