Thanks to jepp2 from thefiringline for the info.

So glad I went with WWB on the last purchase! At least they care enough to let us know and reimburse.

I take it that incorrect propellant charge means either under or over loaded.

i just bought a few HUNDRED rounds from walmart and it just happends to be all under the recall. called and left a message but on my ammo (champion) it only has the part number, no lot number... so we shall see.

also whats concerning is that i already fired a good 200+rnds of this same stuff through my 1911 a few days back.

I had been buying the Federal WallMart WM5233 all winter stocking up every paycheck.

I found one last box today and when they tried ringing it up, it would not allow them to sell; saying recall.

And yet yesterday I put some thru my new Kimber, glad everything on that box worked ok.

I'll be callin' tomorrow and see, no LOT #s on the WalMart boxes. I have a full ammo can of these boxes.

I wonder how they will be taking care of replacing this?

I called both numbers. Both said due to high number of recall phone calls, you will need to leave a message with lot number and part number and number of return boxes you need to send back.

I left the message with both phone number and home address. I will report back how soon they call back.

yep i got a call back yesterday AM, any box she said with 38 on it needs to be returned.

also the walmart ammo, OPEN THE FLAP, its stamped in lighter ink on the outside flap itself. i couldn't find mine until i read some of the reply's and saw the mark on the inside of the box, not outside.

Same here I got my call today, numbers inside the flap on the white Part.

Mine were all L11xxx and fine. I asked why Wal-Mart took all the AMMO off the shelves then and not let me buy more. She said Wal-Mart tends to error on the side of safety and pull all product. I asked what was wrong for the recall. She said, "over full propellant loads; from what I understand, causing blowing up of guns." She was very nice, patient, and waited on the phone while I checked all my ammo boxes.

I assume at some point a person checks the lots at Wal-Mart and eventually will put it back on the shelves so I can keep adding the Fed45 to my 401-A (ammo) retirement account ;)

hahaha 401-A. Thats good stuff. Hope thats not copyrighted because I'm going to use that!
