I was told via email from Federal that they have no plans of releasing HST as a component bullet either.

Federal does sell Hydra-shok bullets for reloading and their sister company, Speer, does sell Gold Dots for reloading.
This, last year RMR Bullets had HSTs in .40 cal. for a time.
To the OP, you would have to check often, as I suspect, more popular calibers would go quickly.

Well if I manufactured a specific bullet that sold out when made into loaded ammo I would also continue making the ammo rather than divert any to reloaders for less profit overall. I think that as reloaders we as a group are fortunate the various manufacturers offer their premium bullets to us as components. They all could make a bigger profit selling finished ammo only.

Sign up for email newsletters from American Reloading and RMR bullets. I actually got an email last week that American Reloading had some 147gr 9mm in stock.
I haven't seen pulled 9mm HST at RMR in a while, but they had pulled 124gr gold dots last year.
Also wouldn't hurt to sign up for alerts from the sticky'd component deals thread at the top of this forum. The collective here has a lot deal seekers.

Just recieved yesterday 500 124 gr. pulled HST's from American Reloading that I ordered on April 12. I don't know if they still have in stock. Second box I got from them in the last 6 months or so. Very happy with them and the deal.
Not so much with the box of Gold Dots they had earlier this year. Had to seat them too short for my liking and several guns did not like them either...the giant saucer hp's make for a squat short bullet and nose was hanging up on the feed ramps, also copper seems to foul lands more than any other bullets....no more for me.
