No longer a hypothetical. This thread will help build a final product.
This will be my first ground-up build so I had some pretty basic questions come up. Mostly objective, maybe one or two discussion starters.
In researching barrels I noticed a good amount paired with a bolt. I'm guessing the idea there is a bolt pre-headspaced to your specific barrel.
Any other benefits to this?
The reason I ask is that I had been looking at Wilson combat bcg's and rainier barrels, and hadn't heard of bolt/barrel combos.
I plan on using a Larue Stealth upper but am still in the air about a lower.
Definitely CNC. I wanted a Larue but they stopped producing stripped lowers. I own an LMT, so I may go that route. Thoughts?
Outside of solid receivers and a match barrel/bolt, I am on to weight reduction. I'm looking at carbon fiber hand guards, and a strong but light adjustable stock.
Any input in those categories is appreciated as I don't have much experience there.
She will sport a HAMR, 762-SDN-6 and I'll probably do the whole platform in FDE.
I'll have about $500/mo. going into this so stay tuned because it won't be long.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts, criticisms, etc. all appreciated.
Edit: adjustable gas blocks. No idea.
