Finally got a big Smith

after purchasing my Python last month i havent gone to the gun shop and i was doing good there for a while. but last night i figured i'd go "just to take a look." Found a 629 classic with an 8 3/8" barrel, locks up tight, good shape, with hogue exotic hardwood grips on it for $499. Looks like my 642's got a big brother now

i was actually looking at a 686 at the store. i guess you could say i wanted a smith to go along with my gp100 and my python. it was in kind of rough shape and didnt really knock my socks off. then the guy behind the counter looked at me and said "if youre looking for a nice smith this is the one you should be looking at," and handed me the 629. He was definitely a smith guy too, because he said to me one of the things he really enjoys about his job is "selling a fine Smith and Wesson." store policy requires 20% down on a deposit, he let me hold it for $40. Guess he figured he had found it a good owner lol!

I"ve have a 6 inch 629 one without the full underlug it"s my only 44mag and I donot think I can do a lot better.
