Finally....Got a NightForce :)

Well after a long time of saving I finally topped my Savage 116 BSS .300 RUM with a NightForce NXS 8-32x56! Here's some pictures! Supposed to be nice here this weekend, so planning on getting it zero'd in on Sat. Pretty excited for this!

Thanks! Yeah used to have a Bushnell 3-9 power on there...but that wont reach to the distances I want to shoot...so thus the need for high magnification and a scope that can withstand the punishment of a 300 RUM.

Good investment

Ur night force scope is an excellent choice for long range work...they are pretty much the "gold standard" for us 50 bmg shooters who work at 1000 yds plus routinely. The .300 rum is also a great round, have worked a lot with it in hvy bl tac rifles....hope u can get a range with some serious yardage and stretch that 300 rum's legs out and put that NX to good use....good luck.

What reticle did you get in it?

I shot one that an AMU guy had. I left drool marks on it & the rifle.

Should work great for my application. I bought the scope second hand from a gun dealer I know. Someone sold it to him amongst other things, and he knew I was looking for this scope...so he called me, and I bought a $2000 scope for $1500. Can't complain on that one.

And yeah, I know, my place is a wreck right now...thank you holiday season. :banghead:

Thanks...yeah had to mount it a little higher due the the big objective, but nothing an elevated cheek rest cant fix

I have the NXS 5.5-22x56mm on my .50, been there for over a decade and hasn't had a problem. My problem is NF is coming out with their new NXS scope called the ATACR and another called the B.E.A.S.T. and I would like to upgrade. Awesome scopes, with a 50 MOA base I can get out over a mile with my .50 and its awesome to be able to do it.

Enjoy the scope, they're great pieces of machinery and will last a lifetime.

I enjoy my 3.5-15X50 NXS. Currently doing duty on an AR-15 in a Nightforce Uni-Mount. Plan on taking it off at some point when a more appropriate bolt gun is procured, and putting a 2.5-10X32 NXS on the AR.

Went to the range today and got 'er sighted in...zero at 200 yards

And the girl came with...good day at the range!

Yeah matter of fact it was twice the cost of my rifle...kinda how it goes though. The rings im using are UTG Medium's and so far seem to be doing just fine. Put 30 rounds down range today and everything held zero. Bases are standard Weaver.

Well if they work and do what I need them to do then I can't really complain if they give me trouble ill probably invest in some nightforce ultralights. So we shall see

Went kind of crazy the last couple weeks lol Going a whole new route at this point. Bought this, the Savage 110 FCP HS Precision 338 Lapua:



Going to top it with the NightForce, going to use Warne rings on that one. Also building up my old Savage 116 300 RUM...just got an EGW full rail for it, and Warne rings...Putting my Bushnell Elite back on that rifle.
