Made my weekly calls to the Kittery Trading Post and the Cabellas in Scarborough to see if they had anything in yet and the reloading dept. manager at Cabellas said he had just received a small shipment of Remington primers, but they likely wouldn't last till lunch time. After requesting that the guy hold two boxes of 6 1/2 small rifle primers for me, I beet feet at 80 mph up the highway hoping the guy would indeed hook me up.
Got there in time and came home with 3,000 small rifle primers.... (2K for me and 1K for a friend) and 1K large pistol primers for another friend.
We've been beating the bushes high and low for weeks with no success.
I've never used Remington primers before.
Will I need to work up loads all over again?
Or will their performance mirror Winchester primers?
Rick at Cabellas was great and very knowledgeable. He said they are only getting sporatic shipments and usually the first couple guys in the store the day of their delivery were cleaning them out. He only received 6,000 Rem 6 1/2 primers in this delivery and he got no Winchester or CCI primers.
Happily, I got $15 off, for signing up for Cabellas Visa card.
And best of all.......... a free Cabellas hat
