Finally after years of waiting I own an AR-15!!!! It has been homebuilt. It has a DPMS post ban .223/5.56 A2 upper w/ a 1-9 twist 16" barrel. The lower is a Stinger Arms milled reciever. It says the barrel is a light one but it is much thicker than some light barrels I have seen before. Man if I could figure out haw to post some darn pics I would. Oh yeah it has a green stock on it.:) Boy,I used not to like AR's. I was an AK dude but now I love these things!!! Jams??? yeah right!!! I already have put about 200 rounds through it with not even an attemt to hiccup. I need to find some REEEEALLY cheap .223's. Wolf is about the cheapest I know of at $110/1000. Soon as that dang ban goes off, collapsable(?spelling?) stock here I come!!! :D :D :D :D

Look I am not an ammo snob nor am I an AR snob but I follow a simple rule.

Commie ammo, Commie gun.

American Ammo, American gun.

Don't shoot that Wolf through your AR. It will eventually either tear your extractor out or simply jam a case so solid it will have to be banged out with a dowl. I have seen it time and again.

I have both ARs and AKs I have no bias towards either, well maybe more toward the AK :D , but I have seen lots of ARs eventually fail with with Wolf, Silver Bear etc. ammo. American chambers are just too tight. Good for accuracy bad for reasonably crappy ammo. Once again I shoot lots of that reasonably crappy ammo through my AK's and SKS so I say that with all the love in my heart.

Just a friendly warning, no flames intended.

Using wolf ammo in your AR-15 is like setting up a romantic dinner with your spouse at a nice restaurant and serving her a bottle of Thunderbird.

Seriously, you may live to regret it if you continue to use Wolf. I know it's cheap, but I'd rather pay extra for the still reasonably low-cost XM193 from Federal (which, in my experience, has seen tremendous reliability) versus the chance of one of those case heads on the Wolf separating and damaging your AR. Your call.

There's nothing wrong with Thunderbird as long as you're serving cold pizza. And have asprin on hand. Lots of asprin....
