Now, I was born at night, but not LAST night. Their assertion is that fireclean "coats the metal so debris and carbon don't stick."

That may very well be true. HOWEVER: the proof they offer is slow-speed video of Beretta 92 and M4, chamber and muzzle, with commentary that the more crap and stuff flying out of the chamber and muzzle, the better (because they say this means that it's leaving less in the gun).

So they do 3 tests: one with an absolutely dry gun, then cleaned/degreased and CLP applied, and then cleaned/degreased and FireClean applied.

Guess what... as you might expect, the guns with lube everywhere showed more mist/debris/crap flying out of ejection port and muzzle.

Soooo... huh? OF COURSE if you put lube on all surfaces and then fire it, it will SPRAY MORE LUBE out when you fire it!!

Am I the only one with an "emperor's new clothes" thing going on here?:confused::confused::confused:

Lol Ed lives in my neighborhood. (He wouldn't give me any for free...)
So I went out and bought some and now I love it. I use it on pretty much everything.

I have noticed that I use less oil, and I can go between lubing my ARs longer than the old RemOil I was using.
Anyone that owns an AR will know it'll tell you when its out of lube...

It doesnt taste very good though.

Thing is, they could come up with some other tests to show it actually works. Shoot 500 rounds and wipe off the bolt with a paper towel, versus doing the same thing dry and with CLP.

But LV is usually legit... I'm surprised he backed this farce of a "test". Must have paid him a lot.

I guess they wanted to justify the expense of the highspeed camera. :D

The fireclean dudes seem cool and I hope they make lots of money. Sounds like a good product. I just think the test was kinda silly.

I needed new cleaner and lube so I picked some up to try it before I even saw this test. I'l be shooting over the weekend and have a carbine class in March, that should be enough to tell me if it works well enough for my use.

I hope it does because it should cut down on the number of cleanings and time to clean my guns. The truth is yet to be seen.

If it fails back to Hoppes #9
