Was counting it up, might be closer to EIGHT years since I did any IDPA type stuff on a regular basis. Started off slow, but by stage 2 was doing fluid deliberate motion, pressing that front sight and getting my hits. 55 shooters today, FIVE stages. Went through almost 200 rounds. Had a BLAST. RMGO is going to be putting on more matches, not just 'zombie' themed ones.

Highlights? The Walking Dead Stage.

Stab zombie Nixon in the face, run to the cross bow and make a single shot, run to shoot the 5 zombies threatening Carl. Sorry Carl. ;)

I may have a SLIGHTLY exaggerated draw stroke. :scrutiny:

No malfunctions from my trusty FEG hi-power, only one caution (no deduction) and a LOT of fun.

Well, that looks like fun!

I had a similar experience, as Ken dragged me out to shoot a Garand-only service rifle match Saturday. I haven't shot position rifle competition in like 10 years or more, so that was a treat, and I even managed to do OK in the off-hand stage!

I got a lot of compliments on being helpful with the brass bag and tactical movement (though cover etc wasn't stressed as 'zombies don't shoot back') and good gun handling.

I was very pleased.

Looks like I finished 29th out of 55. Not a great feat to some, but to me that's like a blue ribbon and a big smile.

Welcome back, Doc. I've shot IDPA in several states, but the matches in CO are unparalleled for creativity of stages and the enthusiasm of all the shooters, not to mention the scenery. Most of all I really miss the carbine matches.
