First I ever fired was some kind of a Single Action 22, possibly an old three screw Ruger, but I didn't know enough back then to know. It belonged to a friends father, and we'd sneak it out to the pond and shoot at frogs with it. Note, I said "Shoot at." I don't recall ever hitting any.
The first one I ever carried was a really nice Colt 38 that was issued to me on a security job. No qualifying, no training. They just handed me the Colt, six rounds of LRN ammo, and a Sam Browne belt and holster. I sure would like to have that gun. I must have dry fired it a million times. I think it had the best trigger I've ever felt.
The first one I ever owned was the classic Smith & Wesson, Model 19 "Combat Magnum" with a 4" barrel. I still kick myself for trading it off. :banghead:
