I learned this from a guy called westincar on the Ruger forum. It feels good, and didn't add to much bulk to the grip. I'll see how it shoots next time I go to the range...

I had done the same exact thing to my ruger 22/45 until I broke down and got some hogue handalls...I actually like the added grip width that the palm swells on the hogue provide.

I wanted to do this for a long time to some of my guns but I couldn't find any old inner tubes. They used to be everywhere when I was a kid but now they only come new. The whole point of the inner tube thing was to save money but if you have to buy the tube, it defeats the intent.

Looks good but couldn't you have found a part of the tube that didn't have writing on it?:neener:

Hee hee..., I was half way thru when I noticed the words but it took me a good 10 minutes so I wasn't gonna back it off:D Like I said it on the Ruger forum, I got myself the very first P95 that was Made in Taiwan...

I did use some old innertube I got laying around to be used as patches to fix my bike. But after I got it on, I wish I'd bought some new ones. I did clean it, but it still had some dirty stuff on it that took me quite some time to wipe it. As it was already on, I couldn't use cloth that was too damp...

Anybody know the url of the ruger forum?

As a happy owner of a new KP89 I'm looking for some info.

Thanks,
Leo

Hi, denfoote,

Hmm..., sounds like I got an old friend here:)

The Ruger shoots really sweet, just can't keep it fed all the time as I go thru those Walmart 100rd Winchester's faster than I can count the bills in my wallet:D

Haven't shot with this home-made grip yet, I'll see how it turns out...

doublebarrel,
Welcome aboard.

The P95 is one of the best values I've ever purchased.
I tried the Hogue slip-on on my P95, but it felt too big.
I loved it on the P97 though.

And yes, ammo just evaporates when you take the P95 to the range. :D

(Here's a hint: The ammo will last longer with 10rd mags. Once you score some 15rd mags, you may as well go to Wally World and get a job application.)

With 30rd ones, the ammo's gone so fast, you never even knew you had it.
Which is why I only take 10 round ones to the range.
Seriously, I think the P95 rules.
