I certainly hope so if she goes up against him. Anybody know of any other Florida republicans that have thrown their hat into the ring yet ? Apparently she is electable, being in the House now, and I would love to see Bill Nelson not have the "opportunity" to represent me anymore. She has voted in favor gunmaker protection and the repeal of the DC gun ban and Bill Nelson has yet to see a peice of anti-gun legislation he doesn't vote for. I will have to wait and see who else runs but at least she has the name recognition and isn't terrible to look at on top of that :)

I wrote Bill Nelson awhile back and got a typical reply, "While I fully support second amendment rights I do see a place for sensible firearm legislation" or something to that effect. Yeah right. Didn't save the letter so I can't type it word for word. I was watching CSpan during the judicial filibuster deal and saw Nelson making a speech. He said "I see the elimination of the judicial filibuster as a possible way for offshore drilling off Florida to be possible" Still haven't figured that one out yet.

Maybe she or another Republican can join Senator Martinez in supporting or rights.

I think Nelson is one of the ones considered vulnerable. If you look at the Senators up for reelection I think 17 Democrats and 15 republicans, the Democrats will have a much harder time of it. Keep in mind though most politicians are relatively safe unless they do something incredibly stupid.

After the debacle in 2000 in Florida, if Charlie Manson was a Republican, and Mother Theresa was a Democrat, much as I like Mother Theresa.......

Same here, Lanceman.....

My U.S. home is in Florida and, despite lots of correspondence,
I've never gotten an even mildly pro-gun response from Bill Nelson. :barf:

Let's hope someone is able to retire Bill in '06. ;)

Same generic replies from Bill Nelson here too...at least he replied, never received one from Mel Martinez :cuss:

JEB should run for Florida Senate. Don't think American can handle a 3rd Bush president.

Jeb would be 100% win against that SOB Nelson. Harris would be a close race.

I haven't received a response from Senator Martinez in the past, He just got elected so I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for awhile. When I write him I know that he will agree with my pro-gun stance so it doesn't hurt my feelings too bad when he doesn't send something back saying we agree. I think it is more important to just let him know we are out here and support him. Jeb for Senate, sure why not.
