Well, maybe

"The bottom line is, drugs and guns go together," Baixauli said. "A lot of innocent people get caught in the crossfire sometimes."
We could have done without that little injection of crap.

Drugs and politicians go together.

Drugs and sports icons go together.

Drugs and illegal aliens go together.

Drugs and criminals go together.

Since when do guns use, transport, or sell drugs?

So, yes, well done on overpowering some bad guys.

But at the same time, WOULDJA SHUT UP WITH THE "GUNS ARE BAD" RHETORIC ALREADY!?

I"m with you Arfin, I'd like to see a little less "preachifying" about evil guns
from the talking head representing the badges.

As for an "attaboy" for the ATF on "doing their jobs"? First of all I thought DEA was the drug enforcement specialist agency, what was ATF involved for. And second, since these alphabet agencies despise oversight and civilian accountability for their mistakes I can see no reason for giving them a pat on the back for earning their salary....I don't get 3 cheers and a hurrah for doing what I was hired to do and neither should they.

If they want a little cheering maybe they should consider exercising some commen sense, judgement and restraint when dealing with the average citizen that they view as the "enemy".

As I see it, they work for you and me. And, we do not pay them to opine on guns. Just the facts, please.

The investigation began 10 days ago when ATF agents identified the men as members of a ring ripping off drug dealers, Baixauli said.

Can't have criminals interfering with the free enterprise system.

I've had policy dealings with BATF (specifically then Special-Agent-In-Charge Marvin Richardson), on their attempt to put Project Exile in Phoenix. They wanted to use our group (Arizona Gun Safety Coalition) for marketing. AGSC is a group of antis and pro-gunnies coming together to commit acts of press releases, for the most part.

Fortunately, I was able to use the anti's distrust of the NRA, and the pro's distrust of BATF to scuttle the whole thing.

Marvin, and his US Atty side-kick were less than forthcoming during our meetings. BTW, anyone want to guess where Marv was on February 28th, 1993?

Never again.

Odd, isn't it? They don't seem very worried about "innocent people" getting killed when it is the cop's crossfire that does the killing.

Drugs and guns go together just like booze and guns went together for Capone et al during Prohibition.

Remember, the drive-by shooting was invented by Capone and his competetors trying to protect their market share of these illegal activities. This is the same crap we have now. The names have changed, the product has changed from booze to crack or meth, but it's deja vu all over again.

Why should the innocent bystanders in the War on Drugs get any more consideration than the innocent bystanders in the War on Terror?

What, are you dense? Remember:

"The bottom line is, drugs and guns go together," Baixauli said.

Which of course means we are all potential drug addicts. Does the FBI/DEA/CIA/BATFE/OMGWTFBBQ need any better reason to be keeping an eye on us?

I'm agreeing with Arfin and Xrayboy.
What's up with the agency charged with...whatever the BATF does, getting a slap on the back for? Weren't they just doing their job? Maybe if they'd busted some drug dealers in the US illegally with a butt load of crack, stolen firearms, untaxed cigarettes and some moonshine, maybe then I'd think about it. Instead they nab 3 guys that were "stealing" from drug dealers, fake drug dealer at that. Give me a freakin' break.
