I was at a gunstore recently and they had the FN/Herstal guys demoing their metal frame semi-auto pistols, and the FiveseveN and the PS90. One of the guys made mention of the fact that they will be releasing a new Hicap plastic fantastic aimed specifically at Glocks, M&Ps, and XDs, next year. It will be chambered in standard 9mm, .40, and .45acp. It will NOT be the FiveseveN in new chamberings.

Has anyone else heard of this?

Are U talking about the FNP? They have been out a while now. (except for the 45, which is coming out soon)

Uh no, it was not the Five Seven. I have been trying to find the source where I saw that there would be a striker fired version. Hopefully our resident FN experts will pop in.:)

Well, I haven't heard anything else on any other pistol except the Five Seven and FNPs.

Like I said, the FN/Herstal national reps were demo'ing at a local gunshop and THEY told me that there would be a NEW line of pistols to compete with Glock, XD, and M&P directly, that would be another striker fired, hammerless, in the Glock tradition, and it IS NOT the FiveseveN. It was to be released next year. Just trying to find any other info, the reps were not interested in promoting something not out yet, they wanted to sell FiveseveNs and PS90s. Their current semiauto pistol line (I guess the FNPs?) actually impressed me that they were like a Sig that uses P99 replaceable grip backstraps and XD style magazines. So I thought I would see if anyone out here in the InterWeb had heard anything else because I would like to see what they will look like.

Well, this thread is the first I have seen mention it on any gun forum, and I am on many of them.

Anyway - hope it is true - look forward to seeing something else from them.
